“Hot Circuit” is a ten channel video installation that references the global rise of television as a mass medium in the 1950s, paired with the popularity of the melodrama as a genre. Played on a continuous loop, the sequencing of scenes need not be linear and the narrative, which follows the seduction and fall of its teen protagonist, is presented in a delicate and meticulously constructed world of paper and silver paint. All television sets play their scenes simultaneously, including sound so that the viewer is bombarded by visual and aural information.
